It's design sheet central in year 2 3D. I've done 3 in less than 24 hours!
Sent from my HTC
a blog compiling the extended diploma in art & design work of lilith dillon-parkin, an art student specializing in 3-dimensional design and video installation, for the period of 2010-2012.

Posting via email is now a-go!
Hi, to anyone who might be reading. Just a quick update to say that the backlog of work is officially CLEARED - I finished my Pathway 3D sketchbook today and am so relieved to be able to finally just focus on present work instead of spreading my energies across past, present and future stuff.
I have also finally set up email posting on my smartphone, so you can expect to see image posts from me sent via my HTC Desire. I'm not sure about doing text posts, as I'm not certain how HTML on that would work over mobile email - as you can probably see, I use the small font size on my text posts - but once I figure it out, there might even be a bit of that too.
Tl;dr - You'll be seeing a lot more up-to-date information about how my work is going and the like!
Thank you for reading if you are, I really appreciate it.

Progress Report: 15/04/2012
Completed:
- Fine Art, Year 2, extended evaluation
- CAD, projects 1 and 2
- 3D, Year 2, extended annotation and evaluation
Yet to complete:
- 3D Pathway, annotation and evaluation
I am really looking forward to having the backlog of work completed - it will allow me to focus all of my time and energy on my Final Major Project, and will also give me some vital grades I need to have to get up to PPP; at the moment, I am only 100 or so points away from passing my course at the lowest possible level, which is the minimum my university choice (Wimbledon, University of the Arts London) is asking for.
Getting a grade in CAD (finally) will procure me 70-90 points, depending on the grade I achieve, and having completed what I need to achieve Distinctions in Fine Art and 3D this year, I will also get 10 more points each in those subjects. This leads me to a total of 90-110 points, depending on my CAD grade.
Completing my 3D Pathway work will get me another 70-90 points, putting me firmly in the grade boundary for PPP. I then plan to go back and revisit some work from last year to see if I can gain a few more points in subjects where I have only gained a Merit or lower. I have four subjects from last year in which I am one criteria away from a Distinction, so I could possibly gain 40 more points if I complete some extra work for them.
My personal goal for my end grade for this course is DDD or higher, so I would like to gain as many extra points as possible. However, I must keep in mind that I have 3 more marks to collect this year (2 of them being the FMP units), and so I stand to gain as many as 270 more points upon completing them.
I feel positive about what I have achieved in my Easter break, and am very relieved to have cleared the backlog of work I accumulated while in Prague. I hope I can use this momentum to continue working at this level of intensity for the rest of the year.

Unfinished work
Currently I'm on my Easter holidays - nearing the end of the first of two weeks away from college - and am mainly working on clearing a large backlog of sketchbook work which I accumulated while away on the 3 week exchange trip to Prague, Czech Republic that I was involved with in January. As everything has moved so quickly, and with things like university applications going ahead, this is the first real opportunity I've had to push through with all of it and get stuff finished off.
So far, I have:

As everything has moved so quickly, and with things like university applications going ahead, this is the first real opportunity I've had to push through with all of it and get stuff finished off.
So far, I have:
- finished both CAD projects from this year
- written half of an extended evaluation for Fine Art (year 2)
- started to finish off my design sheets for Fine Art (year 2)
I'm also planning to:
- extend my 3D evaluation for Project 1 (before Pathway)
- finish my concept-related annotations for the same project
- annotate my Pathway work fully
- draw some designs for my FMP installation, to help recruit technicians to my cause and so that I can negotiate with Nolan for space
- write evaluations for both CAD projects
- and start my FMP research sketchbook for Art History.
Final Major Project
With regards to my Final Major Project, I have been to the Vintage Fair at Sutton Town Hall and photographed the various ceramic paraphernalia being sold there, and have revisited the ceramics collection at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to make sure I have all the photos I need for my sketchbook.
I'm planning to visit Potclays in Brownhills soon, too - they sell clays, glazes and lustres, and all manner of other things relating to producing ceramics. I'm interested in using lustres, so I think the visit could be invaluable to me.
I have definitely decided to produce an installation for my exhibition piece, and hope to incorporate sound and video into it, as well as ceramics and found objects (mainly bottles). I'm planning to talk out some of my ideas with my parents - who both have degrees in Fine Art - so that I can start drawing up my spacial design plans; I have a lot of ideas that I want to incorporate but I need to figure out what would be most visually effective.
I'm working on finishing the annotation for all of my research so far, and printing out photos I've taken from exhibitions I have been to, etc. However most of my efforts are going towards my unfinished Pathway project sketchbook so that the backlog of work is cleared and I can continue on towards FMP with minimal worries.
I'm hoping to produce another video blog soon, too - this has stalled slightly, but I'm going to get back on track.
